Veritas managing director Pacific region, Paul Simos, is leaving company to head to storage vendor EMC as its Victorian enterprise and Government sales director.

Veritas has confirmed Simos was departing and his position would be filled by current APJ sales lead, Chris Lin, in the interim until the company could find a suitable replacement.

“We wish Paul well in his future endeavours,” a Veritas spokesperson said.

“Our APJ sales leader, Chris Lin, will be the interim leader until we find a new leader for the Pacific region.”

The spokesperson went on to say that the company’s sales director, Louis Tague, would assist Lin in handling the Pacific region during this time.

EMC confirmed Simos will be joining EMC Australia and New Zealand on 7 March 2016.

“In his new role, as Victorian enterprise and Government sales director, Paul will lead the team to deliver EMC’s product and solution portfolio to our customers in Victoria,” the company said in a statement.

“He is excited to be joining EMC, which is at the forefront of industry leading hybrid Cloud, converged infrastructure, data lake and flash solutions,” it added.

Simos was appointed to the local leadership role in April 2015, and held the position through the split with Symantec in 2015. He joined the security vendor in 2007, when he was appointed account manager for Federal Government.

He held several roles with Symantec during his tenure including commercial sales manager, enterprise account manager and district director in Victoria.
