Former Symantec to Veeam, new A/NZ enterprise chief targets bigger market share

"This is the era of the always-on business."

Data centre solutions provider Veeam has has appointed Chris Russell to the role of regional enterprise manager across Australia and New Zealand.

Tasked with growing the company’s presence in mid-market and enterprise organisations on both sides of the Tasman, Russell will also lead a team team of territory and enterprise account managers.

“Chris’ extensive experience both in representing a brand providing disruptive technology in these market segments along with his knowledge of Cloud technologies, meant he was a natural choice for the position,” says Don Williams, VP of A/NZ, Veeam.

“We welcome Chris to Veeam and are confident he will build our A/NZ market presence.”

Williams believes the mid-market and enterprise sectors especially were a “huge growth” opportunity for the business and welcomes Russell from his previous role at industry rivals Symantec, where he held sales and management positions.

Prior to this, Russell was at Premier Global Services where he worked on building new business across the enterprise and SMB sectors.

“Data is growing exponentially and customers expect and demand access to their data and applications 24/7, with zero patience for downtime or data loss,” Russell adds.

“This is the era of the always-on business. The pressure to deliver the requirements of being an always-on business will drive IT leaders to re-think their availability models.

“Network agility and reliability will come under the spotlight as cloud adoption continues to gather momentum, but availability will become a strategic concern to business leaders.

“I believe that Veeam is at the forefront of helping businesses address availability issues and I am excited to be part of a company that is delivering true business value and look forward to successful years ahead with Veeam.”
