Boost for partner networks as Software AG deploys full cloud portfolio on AWS

Software AG will launch a ‘Transformation to the Cloud’ initiative with the objective of helping enterprises to identify and implement their optimal cloud adoption strategies.

To support the initiative, the company will deploy its entire cloud portfolio on the Amazon Web Services cloud over the course of 2015, with the company’s Alfabet Cloud and ARIS Cloud product suites already running on the platform.

These cover all aspects of IT planning and portfolio management as well as the whole area of business process analysis, with Software AG also set to deploy webMethods Integration Cloud on AWS later this year, offering application integration capabilities for Cloud-to-Cloud and Cloud-to-Ground use cases as a public cloud service.

“Software AG is committed to increasing customer choice and ease of use wherever possible and transformation to the cloud is a significant step in this direction, delivering increased enterprise flexibility and adaptability,” says Wolfram Jost, CTO, Software AG.

“Not only does this help enterprises and government departments to design and implement individual cloud strategies and architectures, it does so from the cloud, delivering cost efficiencies from the start.”

Transformation to the Cloud

Jost says Software AG is offering a “unique portfolio” of cloud services to enable customers to design an optimal hybrid IT architecture and deploy suitable processes, domains, systems and applications on the AWS cloud.

Software AG will also deploy webMethods Integration Cloud, an integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) for cloud-to-cloud integration and seamless connections with private cloud or on-premise enterprise service bus installations on AWS.

Finally, webMethods AgileApps Cloud, a PaaS and on-premises solution for creating situational and case management apps will also be run on AWS.

“Today, more than ever before, leading ISVs are looking for IT solutions that allow them to move quickly, reduce costs, and better serve their customers,” adds Terry Wise, VP, AWS.

“Software AG is a leading example of an innovative software vendor going all in on AWS to leverage our secure, robust infrastructure platform, and expanding global footprint to build highly differentiated, value-added solutions for their customers.”

According to Jost, Software AG has chosen AWS as its strategic, global IaaS provider as it is the “clear market leader” both in size and brand awareness among large scale enterprises while also offering the widest geographical coverage in the process.

As a result, the company will expand the portfolio of cloud transformation services and solutions through its partner program in 2015 with the focus set to be on delivering strategic cloud adoption consulting services.
