Having trouble keeping your plants alive? Well, some new tech unveiled in the run-up to this year's International CES show promises to do some of the job for you, including watering them.

Paris-based Parrot has essentially created a smart container for a plant to live in, that will monitor its health, and also offer tips to improve its care.

Called the Parrot Pot, the product can hold 2.2 liters of water and it contains sensors that can track sunlight, soil moisture, fertilizer levels and temperature. To eject the water, the pot has four water jets in the container's interior rim.

All data from the pot can be transmitted and displayed on a smartphone or tablet by synching it with Parrot's Flower Power app, which contains tips on how to take care of over 7,000 plants.

While the pot has a battery life of one year, the product can hold enough water to take care of the plant for about a month. The watering can be scheduled to be done automatically, or by accessing the Flower Power app to water the plant remotely.

For owners not wanting to move their plants to a new pot, Parrot has also created a device with similar features that can be attached to existing house plants.

Shaped a bit like a large leaf, Parrot's H20 device needs to be staked into the soil of the house plant. Once installed, it can also begin monitoring the plant's health.

In addition, attaching a filled water bottle to Parrot's H20 will also allow the device to water the plant at scheduled times.

Both products shown on Sunday were prototypes, and Parrot still hasn't determined the pricing or when the products will arrive. Battery life for the two devices will last for about a year.
