Paul Miller replaces Michael Clarke to lead a regional expansion

Insurance technology specialist SSP, has appointed Paul Miller as general manager, Asia Pacific to lead its regional expansion.

Miller takes the reins from Michael Clarke, who has decided to pursue other opportunities after helping build SSP since 2008.

Based in Melbourne, Paul Miller will represent SSP and be responsible for all aspects of SSP's business in the Asia Pacific region.

Paul Miller joins SSP from IBM where he was the account partner for Medibank, managing IBM's consulting and systems integration engagements across the enterprise.

Miller has held a number of leadership positions at IBM, including leader of the ANZ strategy and transformation service line and leader of insurance consulting and systems integration across Asia Pacific.

He will report directly to Stephen Lathrope, managing director of SSP’s insurer division.

The UK headquartered SSP has been operating in Australia for almost ten years and is continuing to expand its presence here as evidenced by a bumper past 12 months. It claims it has signed up eight new clients and has received significant praise in the recent Celent reports on policy administration systems.

SSP managing director, Steven Lathrope, said he was delighted to appoint someone of Paul’s calibre to drive the growth strategy in the region.

“He has an excellent reputation in the technology and insurance community and a skillset that fits extremely well with SSP’s core capabilities," he said.

"His drive and enthusiasm will be instrumental as we continue our growth in Asia Pacific.”

Miller said it was an exciting time to be joining SSP.

"Our customer relationships are fantastic and the demand for our solutions is exploding,” he said.

“I am thrilled to lead SSP’s operations in the Asia Pacific region where our vision is to keep growing our team and to continue focusing on innovation to bring new developments to the market for the benefit of insurers and brokers.”
