“We had an outstanding number of entries this year, with exceptionally high standards which made the process of selecting the winners very difficult. It’s great for us to be able to reward and recognise companies for their dedication to provide innovative solutions that make customers’ lives easier,” says Brent Kendrick, SMB solutions and partners director at Microsoft NZ.

Speaking at the event, Paul Muckleston, MD of Microsoft NZ, promised two Azure data centres in Australia soon for partners to tap into and provide computing power to their customers.

Partners with strong cloud solutions and projects dominated the event, including SoftSource, which picked up three awards, and Gen-i and IT Engine, which collected two awards each.

SoftSource, received the award for Mid-market Solution Provider, for its work with environmental planning and design consultancy Boffa Miskell after they received damage in the Christchurch earthquake. The company also received Sales Specialist of the Year and Cloud SMB category awards.

IT Engine won the Small Business award for the work they did for The Rural General Practitioners Network (RGPN), shifting them to a hybrid cloud service.

Datacom picked up the Cloud Enterprise award for transitioning Zespri’s infrastructure and enterprise applications globally from on-premise to a public cloud model.
