Trend Micro pushes SMBs to get 'Worry-Free' on mobiles

Cloud based security service now available on smartphones

Trend Micro have launched the latest addition to its Worry-Free security business suite, designed to extend the service to smartphones and tablets.

The company claims its new Worry-Free Business Professional suite will allow small to medium business to confidently manage their web based security in and out of the office.

The latest offering not only extends the existing service to mobile devices, but also enables web access control. It incorporates Trend Micro interscan web security, a Cloud based service that it says protects employees from web based threats regardless of their location. The devices covered include: PCs, Macs, servers, point of sale devices, USB drives, tablets and smart phones.

Trend Micro boasts the product is easy to install and use. It touts features such as: uniform web protection across multiple devices; enforcement of web acceptable usage policies and detailed web usage reporting; data loss prevention through emails and USB drive; web threat protection; spam blocking and safeguards against phishing and social engineering attacks; URL filtering that prevents access to inappropriate websites that harbour malware; and device control that prevents data loss and downloading from infected attached devices.

Trend Micro ANZ director small-medium sized business, Mark Sinclair says the product was created locally for the local market.

“We know that in Australia and New Zealand most infections are web based – and that our customers would benefit from the one fast, simple and effective product to combat security threats.

“As the workforce becomes more mobile and social media and cloud service adoption increases, the SMB IT environment is becoming much more complex. Our aim is to help our customers take advantage of this new reality whilst ensuring they are fully protected.”
