3D Workspace solution to integrate traditional and virtual desktop experiences

ICT services provider, Dimension Data (DiData), has gained a spot on the all-of-government desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) panel which it claims will assist government organisations with the buying, building, installation and operation of computer hardware and software.

DiData was recognised for its Cloud-based 3D Workspace service which is designed to enable agencies to better focus on customers and provide greater public services.

The solution combines DiData’s global capability and relationships with local knowledge and skills within a NZ-based desktop solution for organisations which want modern virtual and traditional desktop provision and management.

“3D Workspace provides a… service for organisations wishing to have better flexibility for their workforce and better control of their business, integrating the best of the virtual desktop experience with that of the traditional desktop,” DiData NZ chief executive officer (CEO), Simon Gillespie, said. “It can be scaled up and down to meet the evolving requirements of both the user and the business.”

The Crown Law Office has commenced its desktop transformation with 3D Workspace to provide its Crown Counsel the capability to enable secure access to corporate desktops on any device.

According to Crown Law chief information officer (CIO), Hayley Carthy, the organisation selected DiData’s solution as it recognised a need to lighten its paper load, and required a strategy which would see its counsel provided with all case information at any time.
