Gen-i launches cloud services

Gen-i has launched the first offering from its new suite of cloud services called ReadyCloud.
ReadyCloud Server provides a hosted ICT environment that enables the deployment of cost effective computing. ReadyCloud Backup and ReadyCloud Storage are in development and will be available later this year.
Using ReadyCloud Server, customers can rent virtual machines on a monthly basis to supplement or replace their existing server infrastructure.
Gen-i head of infrastructure and business applications Leanne Buer says ReadyCloud provides on-demand computing which means that clients select the server, backup and storage resources they need now.
“Rather than purchasing costly servers and underlying support infrastructure, clients can leverage Gen-i’s ReadyCloud capability and achieve business efficiencies such as increased productivity and customer responsiveness.”
Gen-i’s ReadyCloud Server is hosted locally in the company’s secure data centres. Customers can connect to the service through a Gen-i internet service or via Gen-i’s private IP network called WAN Services.
Monthly pricing for a server starts from $247 (excluding GST) which includes 1GB memory for one virtual machine and 30GB of fast storage.
